Hi! I’m Julie Mitchell. I have adored creating artwork all my life. My big sister and I spent long hours in our childhoods exploring different artistic mediums. Watercolor was one that I came back to again and again.
I didn’t think art would be a “practical” career path, but when I developed severe chronic migraines in my early twenties, it became my safe place and my medicine. I started an Etsy shop to share my creations - knitting patterns, handmade jewelry, and one-of-a-kind hand dyed textiles created using techniques such as cyanotype and eco printing to preserve the beauty of real pressed leaves and flowers that I collected and carefully arranged in lovely designs.
Now, as a stay-at-home mom, I see how much delight a mermaid, dinosaur, or even pretty flower pattern can bring to a child’s day-to-day life and my heart is drawn to creating art for products that make every day more imaginative and fun.
I live in Utah with my husband, daughter, and two snuggly cats. I love going for walks and admiring the beauty that surrounds me, baking yummy sourdough to share with my neighbors, and having lots of fun and giggles with my family. I am grateful every day to Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ. My art is a daily practice of worship and joy in their creations.
